I found that would happen when I loaded the SNMPv2-SMI mib from a different
directory than the one that was in ietf.

When I've been running zenmib, I do so from the .../share/mibs directory, and
then specify the mib as "ietf/SNMPv2-SMI site/newMibHere"

Also, as Travis has said in other posts, you need to set your export SMIPATH to
include your MIBs directories.
http://community.zenoss.com/forums/viewtopic.php?t=5605&postdays=0&postorder=asc&highlight=zenmib+modeler&start=45

This is set in /home/zenoss/.bash_profile, and what I have looks like:

SMIPATH=/usr/local/zenoss/zenoss/share/mibs/ietf:/usr/local/zenoss/zenoss/share/mibs/iana:/usr/local/zenoss/zenoss/share/mibs/irtf:/usr/local/zenoss/zenoss/share/mibs/site:/usr/local/zenoss/zenoss/share/mibs/tubs

export SMIPATH

I've also created the softlink from /usr/local/zenoss/zenoss/share/mibs to
/usr/local/zenoss/common/share/mibs.
