I'm having a bit of difficulty figuring out how to change the alert
messages that zenoss sends out. For instance, if a volume fills up
on a hardive I'm given an alert showing the current volume size.
For someone who doesn't know the particulars of that volume, they
have no idea exactly how close that hard drive is to being full.
Ideally, I would like this to be a percent value. Is that possible?
I similar issues with network utilization thresholds. Is there any
way to represent the utilization as a percent value instead of the
bits that are being transmitted? It makes it much easier to
conceptualize for people who don't necessarily work with the
equipment all the time but are on call.
Additionally, is it possible to add the "Description" field from the
network alerts to the emails. I doubt anyone bit our network admin
is going to know what "Component: 3/7" is without having to drill
down within zenoss.
Check out netdata's helpful page for getting your file system
threshold events looking much nicer.
