I would LOVE to have Zenoss gather CDP neighbor info on my Cisco devices and
use it to build a topology database (along with using routing and ARP info). I
use an old, creaky HP Network Node Manager server to do up/down monitoring and
really lame SNMP data collection. However, using NNM's CDP capabilities, I can
get an answer within 1 minute on how many Cisco 7920 wireless phones are on the
network and where each is located. Or, in 5 seconds, I can query a site's LAN
switches and find out what Cisco devices are connected to each port.

Does anyone else think having this capability is a really good idea?

Matt
