Advice, needed.
After some successful setups on different linux distros, I'm experiencing
problems installing Zenoss 2.2.3 on a Debian 4.0 server.

Installing from source I get an error report at the end of the installation
process:

---
Changed mode for /usr/local/zenoss/bin/runzeo to 755
Starting Zope Object Database
. daemon process started, pid=354
Loading initial Zenoss objects into the Zeo database
(this can take a few minutes)
unable to create the initial Zenoss object database
---

Stack installer stops and failes as well, but reports different errors, like
--
error writing /home/zenoss/.bash.rc
--

The machine already had a zope server running on it, and it's user accounts are
managed with PAM on a different machine.

May it be, this last thing, the cause of the problems?
And then, is there any workaround known?

As an additional information, not sure if relevant:
after source installation, using the zenoss status command from zenconsole
gives an error about the zenpackdaemons file. where $PYTHON is referenced as
/usr/lib/zope/bin/python
Still the reference seems wrong, as no file is found there.

Thanks in advance
