More "snmp agent down" issues. I am monitoring a FreeBSD7.0 host using SNMPv3. This partially works: modeling succeeded, disks, networks etc. have been detected and listed and the IP services are collected and polled.
However, regardless of this fact, Zenoss still warns that "snmp agent down". Testing from the command line reveals this to be false: Code: [EMAIL PROTECTED] ~]$ snmpwalk -v 3 -l authPriv -a sha -A <secret> -x aes -X <secret> -u monitor clinton.t29.dk sysDesc SNMPv2-MIB::sysDescr.0 = STRING: FreeBSD clinton.t29.dk 7.0-STABLE FreeBSD 7.0-STABLE #1: Thu Jul 24 11:24:08 CEST 2008 [EMAIL PROTECTED]:/usr/obj/usr/src/sys/CLINTON i386 Almost certainly related, the zenperfsnmp daemon is giving a heartbeat failure despite the fact that it is definitely both running and monitoring a number of other hosts using the same SNMPv3 user/auth/priv combination. I have tried restarting the involved zenoss deamons (zenhub, zenperfsnmp), but to no avail. Is it normal the Zenoss is this unstable internally? I'm getting quite worried about these internal Zenoss processes not behaving as expected. -------------------- m2f -------------------- Read this topic online here: http://community.zenoss.com/forums/viewtopic.php?p=25119#25119 -------------------- m2f -------------------- _______________________________________________ zenoss-users mailing list [email protected] http://lists.zenoss.org/mailman/listinfo/zenoss-users
