I think the single greatest thing about Zenoss is that it will graph STRING 
values as if they are INTEGER or INTEGER64. Whatever you can throw at it in a 
STRING, it will work.

Here's some ideas, although they may not be elegant:


1) Modify the existing Host Resources MIB and change the INTEGER values to 
STRING values. If it's only for a handful of servers, this may be doable... 
Make sure you back it up before you do anything. 

for me, this MIB lives in:
/usr/share/snmp/mibs/HOST-RESOURCES-MIB.txt

You could even do a simple search and replace in the entire file, in vi:

vi HOST-RESOURCES-MIB.txt

:%s/INTEGER/STRING/g

2) Write your own snmp pass-through script and change the values to STRING.
