MIBs in Zenoss will drive you crazy. You spend a load of time trying to get them all loaded and then you find out they aren't good for much.
First, do your self a favor and load this ZenPack: http://www.zenoss.com/community/projects/zenpacks/mib-browser It will help ease the pain. I hope the Zenoss folks make this a part of the standard distro. Second, I don't have a complete solution, but maybe I can help you get it figured out. We do a lot of SNMP checks here and they almost always require we set up our own commands to do it. The key is finding the OID. In the link you sent, they used the name 'CISCO-FIREWALL-MIB::cfwHardwareStatusValue.primaryUnit' There is a numeric OID that is the equivalent and you'll need that. I use a external third party mib browser to find what I'm looking for and then copy the long number into the OID field in the datasource. (Google 'mib browser', there are a ton out there) With the mib-browser plugin, you can test the OID before moving on. If you have the mibs loaded into Zenoss, you can use the mib-browser zenpack to find the OID. One you have a datasource with a datapoint, you can use the thresholds to send the alert. I'll watch this thread if you have any questions. -------------------- m2f -------------------- Read this topic online here: http://forums.zenoss.com/viewtopic.php?p=26261#26261 -------------------- m2f -------------------- _______________________________________________ zenoss-users mailing list [email protected] http://lists.zenoss.org/mailman/listinfo/zenoss-users
