I am new to Zenoss. I have been an OpenNMS user for the last 7 years with a previous company. OpenNMS is a great product, but does not have the map function. It was nice to see Zenoss have the Google map feature.
I have a NOC that we are setting up. I have been tasked with implementing an NMS solution. I am comparing OpenNMS to Zenoss. I run a cable plant. We have CMTSs of various kinds. All entered into Zenoss and OpenNMS except one, that entered into OpenNMS just fine, but not Zenoss. Entered meaning that it found all the SNMP information that OpenNMS did. Zenoss did enter the device, but no SNMP information was entered. The funny thing is, I tried to create the interfaces and IP/route information manually once the device was in. When I added one interface, it triggered something that found all the rest. But, it did not create all the necessary graphs like the other CMTSs that I entered. Is their a way to manually enter the device at the command line to see where it is having issues? What are some things that I can look at? As some of you are aware, CMTSs use some different sort of things for the cable side versus ethernet interfaces. Any help would be appreciated.
