I did some investigation and found that on the Zenoss side, the established connections are all owned by the zenmodeler process.
I monitor 11 servers with the class Server/Cmd and the zenmodeler process had 285 established SSH sessions to those servers. I restarted zenmodeler from the Zenoss web interface and all 285 ssh sessions soon timed out on both ends.
