I am new to Zenoss, so hopefully this is an easy question. I have begun populating the device list, and realized that I wanted to make changes to zDefaultNetworkTree's default behavior. Once I made the changes, I realized that I had to delete all of the discovered networks, and then re-model -every- device... is this an accurate assumption?
This poses a couple of problems/questions: 1 - Upon re-model all interfaces are re-populated on the device. This poses a headache to me as I do not want to monitor every interface on every device. I have fine tuned the zInterfaceMapIgnoreNames variable enough to get rid of the garbage, but there is still manual intervention whenever I add a device. 2 - Is there a way to only model the routing table on a device, rather than a full re-model? 3 - How does Zenoss detect a routing change? Say one day I have 50 routes in a device's routing table, and the next I have 500.. does Zenoss run routing table scans at intervals, or only upon a "model device" requiest? Thanks.. -------------------- m2f -------------------- Read this topic online here: http://forums.zenoss.com/viewtopic.php?p=26759#26759 -------------------- m2f -------------------- _______________________________________________ zenoss-users mailing list [email protected] http://lists.zenoss.org/mailman/listinfo/zenoss-users
