I checked the Hyperic / JasperReports project, very interesting. I will like to do the same but probably without the need for the person to acquire the license for JarperReports Pro.
That's why I'm checking different approaches to accomplish this task. Primarily I will like to have some of the ones included in the Hyperic example document plus: 1. Export of current reports in a nice A4 document style. This should be downloadable and viewable in PDF format. An auto-send of schedule reports to a central folder specified can be implemented over time so that this are available on a set schedule. 2. Inventory report and change management: The change part will be done with a compare of what was model at one time and what changed at another. 3.. SLA Reports For Availability. Set of availability reports to be generated on a quarterly, monthly, weekly or daily basis for a group of resources and sent to specified users. No permissions will be checked for sending reports, this will be on the honor system as these users may not be part of the system. Availability should be accessed by established groups which is how data will be viewable by platform, server, service, mixed group, auto-group, and applications. Metrics should be reportable within these time frames as charts, or summarized by average (baseline), high, low, and last available. Tabular reports should be available to summarize averages, totals, highs and lows for groups of like resource types, and allow for detail to be reported by individual managed resources. Most likely the output will include a combination of text and graphical charts depicting total uptime or downtime. It's possible it will include comparisons with previous periods as well. The reports can be send as PDF or viewed in the UI. 3. Alerting reports that can be generated for a set of resources and will include aggregate information on the number of alerts fired, possibly broken down by alerting conditions. It may also compare the duration of the alert condition by using information from recovery alerts or when the original alert condition was reset. -------------------- m2f -------------------- Read this topic online here: http://forums.zenoss.com/viewtopic.php?p=27056#27056 -------------------- m2f -------------------- _______________________________________________ zenoss-users mailing list [email protected] http://lists.zenoss.org/mailman/listinfo/zenoss-users
