I'm about to migrate my existing Zenoss install to better hardware and because of network architecture issues I'll need to change it's IP Address too. (I will be able to keep the same host and FQDN names tho.)

I'm planing to move from RHEL4-x86 to RHEL5-x86 (actually CentOS4-5). Same version of Zenoss 2.2.4 on both systems.

My plan is to shutdown Zenoss & MySQL and then copy the MySQL DB, pref data, and ZenDB over to the new server, change the new servers name to match the old server and then try and start things up. Then do an IP Reset on the zenoss server and remodel it. (And of course if it works update the syslog and trap host settings across our networks.)

Does anyone else who has migrated an install have any tips, tricks, gotchas, or other ideas on how I can migrate?

Thanks

Andy
