Hi all,
I need to implement snmpv3 on my network devices. I am currently testing it
on one of my Cisco switches. In Zenoss, I have edited the zProperties for the
switch itself to reflect the SNMP v3 changes that I made. Currently every other
device that is in Zenoss is using SNMP v2. I also have done a successful
snmpwalk with the Cisco switch using snmpv3. The problem is that Zenoss keeps
reporting that SNMP is down on the device when clearly it is up and running.
The weird thing too is, if I change to snmp zproperties to reflect the SNMP v3
settings at the top of the device tree it will work for the Cisco switch that
is using SNMP v3. That would be fine if everything else was using v3 but their
not and my understanding is that any zproperty on the specific device will
override any of the settings for the containers above it.
