How big is the route table on the 7201?

I saw a very similar issue with one of our four 7200s when I started
working with Zenoss as well. That one 7200 did have a newer IOS then
the other three, but what I also realized is it had a full Internet 1
and Internet 2 routing table. When Zenoss would go to walk the routing
table is when it would spike and Zenoss time out. Of course if I
cranked up the timeout on Zenoss I would kill the router for that much
longer.

In the end I removed the routemap plugin from that device. I later got
the Network Engineer to look at it and he found that it was
mis-configured and should not have had the entire Internet 1 routing
table loaded (just peer networks and Internet2). After that I was able
to put the routemap plug-in back in and it was fine.

My other word or warning is that if you do have a large route table I'd
suggest you switch Zenoss to only load "local" routes into its DB not
the routing table. I found that I wanted more then just "local" routes
but not the BGP routes in Zenoss, so I hacked the routemap plug-in to
also load ospf and is-is route entries when I had "local" routes selected.
