First, I am not a programmer, I am a network geek. Second, I have searched the forums for the answer, but no clear answer at least to me. Read further. Third, I love zenoss. In the past we have used jffnms and have to say zenoss is much much better. It events on more items earlier and I am able to head of problems rather than suddenly having a major event. But one item that my techs used a lot in the prevoius app is the audio alarm in case they weren't setting right at their desk.
I am looking for a way to have an audio alert on a critical event via the web gui, not at the server. In my case I have techs (and me) who are remote to the server, log in via the gui to monitor the status of the network. In our previous app, it would sound an alarm every so often on a device down. I am looking for the same thing in zenoss. I have read the posts where they say you might try this or that but nothing further. My knowledge for incorporating such a feature in a server app is nill. So I am asking for assistance. If you feel you can give me a hand, please either post here or pm me on here. I am willing to learn how to do this, in fact would like to. Just need someone to give me more in depth instruction as I have no one locally I can turn to. Thanks, tk -------------------- m2f -------------------- Read this topic online here: http://forums.zenoss.com/viewtopic.php?p=27647#27647 -------------------- m2f -------------------- _______________________________________________ zenoss-users mailing list [email protected] http://lists.zenoss.org/mailman/listinfo/zenoss-users
