In case you hadn’t noticed, we recently upgraded our Trac installation
(http://dev.zenoss.org/trac/) with a few cosmetic and foundational
changes. Just thought a quick post to outline the changes and clear up
any questions was warranted.

New Milestone names:
        • Because of the vagaries of release numbering, development is using
code names for releases.
        • “Blue Crab” is the next release, ostensibly 2.4, possibly 3.0.
Tentatively planned for Q2 2009.
        • “King Crab” is the release after “Blue Crab”, the next-next release.

Trac Updates:
        • New template for tickets, automatically filling in the Description.
Hopefully this will help improve the quality of tickets in the system.
        • Dropped Severity as a field, since it was typically misapplied.
        • Added Community Patch Attached for patches to the source.
        • Specific ZenPack added for defects against Zenoss ZenPacks.
        • Regression added for situations where the issue used to work.

We’ve made a lot of progress cleaning up our ticket backlog with our
weekly ticket review sessions and we’re working on making development
more open and transparent. If you have any questions, I’ll be more
than happy to answer them. Once again, if you’re interested in a Trac
account please contact me via email or you may continue to use the
“zenoss” account for opening tickets..

Thanks,
Matt Ray
