Hmmm, I'm not sure theres an obvious way to stop Zenoss from starting 
all the daemons, but you can certainly stop them afterwards. If you're 
not using Windows monitoring, you should be able to get away with 
turning off ZenWin and ZenEventLog. You can certainly stop ZenJMX, that 
isn't running without that Zenpack installed so that ought to be safe. 
But you might get heartbeat errors from Zenoss.

As to desirability... Sometimes it's desirable to disable ZenModeler as 
it can really slow down your server every 6 hrs when it remodels 
devices. If you don't want auto re-modeling, then turning that off can 
make a difference.

The rest... If you're not using them, they don't do much - If there's 
nothing in /Devices/Server/Windows, nothing's going to get scanned by 
ZenWin or ZenEventLog anyway, so you're only saving the minor overhead 
of the daemon running...

Generally, if you're not having performance issues, I can't think of any 
reason to turn off part of Zenoss...
