I recently noticed that ping events doesn't get updated as they should. One of the machine on my network is offline due to a power failure, and looking at the events console, I saw that 'Last Time' field hasn't been updated for a while.
I than decided to run the command below, just to make sure zenping was doing its job : Code: sudo tcpdump -n icmp and host poweroff_machine It's been running now for more then an hour, and so far no ping has been sent to the offline machine I got a similar event lately, a machine went offline and later came back up, but zenoss was stuck showing the host still down after a fex hours. I had to restart zenping in order to get the alert cleared. looking at the logs, it seems that zenping no longer pings offline hosts after some time, can anyone confirm this ?
