Hi,

I have several number of Cisco switches that configured with VLAN. Some of them
notably the earliest model of switches generate this error message in Zenoss.

Error reading value for "VLAN2" on [switch] (oid .1.3.6.1.2.1.2.2.1.16.53 is
bad)

But the latest model doesn't generate this error. One thing I noticed is the
interface type for VLAN2 in the old switches shows 'ethernetCsmacd' but the
latest model shows 'propVirtual'. Also there's no performance graph created for
VLAN2 that has 'ethernetCsmacd' interface type. I place all the switches in the
same class -
/device/network/switch, and I'm not sure why they got different interface type
for the VLAN interface.

Any idea? Is there a way to change the interface type of VLAN? I couldn't find
a document or discussion in the forum that explains how to do it. I tried
copying the ethernetCsmacd template and renamed it to propVirtual but it
doesn't fix and it doesn't change interface type of VLAN2. Please help. Thanks.

/Arnel
