I'm using Zenoss 2.3 (Community) as an NMS for the monitoring of 500+ devices and servers, some of them being reachable via internet. the problem I'm having is that when something goes wrong all the staff receives thousands of email alerts (one of each device actually, that is not in the topology) - I'd really like to limit the amount of email to just a minimum I started to try implementing what's described in this tutorial : http://www.zenoss.com/Members/netdata/create-manual-device-dependencys
But I just can't implement this on all of our distant hosts (the routes may be updated, the number of inbetween routers may vary, et caetera), as most of the distant sites are connected through DSL lines with totally different routes. Now my question is : Is there a way to define device dependency in that context without spending the rest of my life adding intermediate hosts and adding routes for each of them? is there a way to cheat so these sites were considered as directly connected to a host ? Thanks fo any advice/suggestion -------------------- m2f -------------------- Read this topic online here: http://forums.zenoss.com/viewtopic.php?p=28862#28862 -------------------- m2f -------------------- _______________________________________________ zenoss-users mailing list [email protected] http://lists.zenoss.org/mailman/listinfo/zenoss-users
