I went the backup-install-restore route, and my only pain was not checking that all the installed ZenPacks on the original machine were installed on the new machine. I had installed ZenJMX (But never implemented it) and I just noticed today that no performance data was being collected, and it was because of a whiney error that ZenJMX wasn't found.. So after resolving that, things seem to be happier. :)

If you just want to restore, we installed ZenOSS onto our new host, the issued a zenbackup on the old server, and copied the monsterious tar file over, and restored. Be aware that any other customization (besides the data in Zope and the RRD files) will need to be transfered over as well. Expect $ZENHOME/log/*.log to be complaining a bit initially too. Keep an eye on the logs as they will tell you if you are broken when you come back up on the new server. -------------------- m2f -------------------- Read this topic online here: http://forums.zenoss.com/viewtopic.php?p=28854#28854 -------------------- m2f -------------------- _______________________________________________ zenoss-users mailing list [email protected] http://lists.zenoss.org/mailman/listinfo/zenoss-users _______________________________________________ zenoss-users mailing list [email protected] http://lists.zenoss.org/mailman/listinfo/zenoss-users
