I installed Zenoss in our lab to see if it would work for our logging needs. I
have two devices SNMPing to the Zenoss box and a ASA Firewall SYS logging to
it. At first it worked great and was very fast. Now after 24 hours it has
slowed to a crawl, and is unusable.

The box has two Dual-Core AMD Opteron 2210HE
12 GIG of memory
Plenty of HD Space and speed
I am also runing a fresh install of Fedora 8

And the CPUs are peged between 50% - 100%

My question is what could Zenoss possible be doing to eat all that CPU? I see
some people say they don’t directly SYS log to Zenoss because it can not
handle it. Is that really true?

PS - I am an fairly newbe to Linux and if you need more info let me know
