Hmmm, have you tried just running
zenoss start
from the Zenoss user? That's pretty much how you start it up...

Well, I don't have any experience with the Stack setup, only the RPM 
setup, so I guess I can't be much help. I just know with the RPM, if 
you're trying to run most zenoss commands as root they fail.
