Had try running the scripts as daemon, but when I snmpwalk, it does not work. That is why I resort to rebuilding back the snmpd packages with additional --enable-embedded-perl options. Got two sets of packages for two different architecture for now, i386 and amd64 arch. Since we cannot simply run the 'perl do "hrswinstalled.pl"; on command line, passing the command to snmpd.conf working just fine. I will put my how to in the next message for other people to try out. Thanks again rmk! Now... to deploy this fix to numerous Ubuntu servers..
