I'm not sure what exactly you're trying to do here, but I'd suggest an 
command datasource, which runs a script you've created in your favorite 
scripting language that runs on your server.

Depending on what sort of event you want to send, you can just have a 
non 0 return code create a command fail event, or you could use 
zensendevent as detailed in recent forum threads.
