Just so this gets documented
... connect_ex(('localhost', 8100)) failed...
Could be caused by Zenoss not being able to look up localhost. Validate the
permissions on /etc/nsswitch.conf for that "other" can read it.
chmod 444 /etc/nsswitch.conf
