Hi Joe, I had the same issue.  Try this as a temporary fix until the developers 
get things fixed up.  It worked for me.

Just change the "Delete Historical Events Older Than (days)" field and save it. 
 I increased mine from 30 to 90 days.  You can probably just raise or lower 
your value by 1 day.  The software seems to pick up the new # of days and run 
the purge immediately.  MySql will max your IO for a while if you delete alot 
of data, so I'd recommend doing it during maintenance or off-hours.

Like I said, it seems to have done it for me.  A mysql "show processlist" 
command should show you the delete command for the 3 tables that hold 
historical data--confirming that the purge is running.
