Hi All,

First of all - I've been watching Zenoss for a few years and it's amazing the
progress the product has made. I feel it's truly enterprise-ready at this
point!

Thus, I'm currently doing a Zenoss deployment in my workplace.

One snag I've run into involves using Custom Fields (i.e. Properties) in
Alerting Rules. I need to modify the WHERE clause of an alerting rule to check
for the value of a custom field. The (boolean) custom field seems to have been
added properly, defaults to FALSE, and is set to TRUE on certain devices.
Basically, I'd like to be able to check for a TRUE value in this field as a
condition for an Alerting Rule.

Ideally, it would show up in the "Add Filter" drop-down for the Alerting Rule
in question, although I'd settle for editing the WHERE clause manually if I had
to....

I've already tried the latter approach, but it just seemed to break the
Alerting rule.

I'm sort of a Zope n00b, so I'm not really sure how it handles this kind of
thing.

Apologies if this has been solved elsewhere - I couldn't find anything similar
in the docs, forums or mailing lists...

Any help would be most appreciated - I really just need to be pointed in the
right direction!

Thanks in advance....
