Hi there, I am currently trying to monitor the ports on a Cisco Catalyst 2950. I created the device in /network/routers/cisco. I set up the snmp settings on the switch and I am able to view performance graphs of every single port.
However, when I tried to check the alerting on removing the cable from a port nothing happens. The Port Status won't change. If I remodel the device the Status is correct, but there is still the problem of no alerts on change of status. I also checked the OID (snmpwalk out of zenoss). It displays the status of every single port. If I remove a cable and run the test command again the status changes. I conclude that I have to set up a certain threshold to create the events (error on port up->down , info on down->up) .
