With further investigation....
I find that if I edit a field of an "uneditable" device using zendmd, for
example:
dev=find('group-1-a1.class.example.org')
print dev.comments
dev.comments="test 1"
print dev.comments
commit()
Then the GUI shows the edit and it looks like I can edit any other field also
(not done exhaustive testing on all fields). This obviously isn't a solution
but it does point to the problem being confusions in the database.
I have tried cluther's patent database fix scripts for fixing broken layer 3
catalog and fix broken deviceSearch or componentSearch but they don't seem to
help.
Anyone else got any input or thoughts?
