My company runs Zenoss to monitor its network. Among other things, we have a multi-tiered data distribution system comprised of servers running on different VMs or different machines altogether. I have been asked to write a monitor to check that data from various sources flows downstream to clients and identify where a blockage is occurring so that people can be notified and a restart can be performed.
I have been told to try to integrate this with our running Zenoss system. From what I've read, my guess is that this means defining some events in Zenoss and then sending a message to the running Zenoss instance. I'm not really sure how to find the documentation to do this correctly. Is there a standard API for this? If I have to write some python scripts and install with the Zenoss instance, I probably can, but I'm not in IT, so the less I have to configure their system the better. I apologize for asking a question that's probably well-documented, but I just can't seem to find it. -------------------- m2f -------------------- Read this topic online here: http://forums.zenoss.com/viewtopic.php?p=33696#33696 -------------------- m2f -------------------- _______________________________________________ zenoss-users mailing list [email protected] http://lists.zenoss.org/mailman/listinfo/zenoss-users
