I had trouble w/the responsiveness of the "Edit" tab in particular a few months ago, but the problems largely disappeared after I stopped using the "HRSWInstalled" collector plugin...this is the one that catalogs all software installed on a device...
My guess is that the Edit tab queries the Zope DB for all of the things you'd see under "Products" (left menu) before it loads....creating the delay After disabling the plugin and then manually removing most of the "Products" entires, the edit tab became usable again... I haven't tried using the SW catalog again in a couple of revisions, so not sure if this has changed.
