Sounds like you might be talking about snmp traps. Try adding the following lines to /etc/snmp/snmpd.conf on the servers you are monitoring (replace <IP> with the ip address of your zenoss collector):
trap2sink <IP> trapsing <IP> informsink <IP> Good luck!
