The problem is that Linux will automatically fill up the memory with the file cache so all our servers are constantly alerting me they are out of memory because of backups etc. How do we change this alert to take into account the file cache? I want to subtract the 'cached' figure from the 'used' figure. I tried to go into the event but it seems to be a hidden inbuilt one.
