I have had similar issues with two IBM Remote Supervisor Adapters. They would consistently give these errors. I left SNMP enabled but removed all the community strings (we have multiple) except for the one I needed and removed all the collector plugins. I wasn't sure if I disabled SNMP that the traps wouldn't be accepted hence leaving it enabled. I don't need to model a remote access card, just need to know it is up and sending me traps. The problem hasn't come back. Hope this helps someone nut out their problem.
