Looks like the check_nrpe plugin is working, but you might want to check
whether or not SSL is enabled on the nrpe daemon side.
try the command with -X (i think) to disable SSL.
I'm using check_nrpe fairly extensively, the command definition format looks
like:
check_nrpe -n -H ${dev/manageIp} -c remote_command_definition
