I had the same issue, after multiples upgrades using source tarballs. (2.1.3 -> 2.2.4 -> 2.3.3 -> 2.4.2). Comparing with the source code on trac, I had in the "$ZENHOME/Products/ZenStatus/" folder many old files : icmp.py inet.py intersect.py ip.py pingjob.py Ping.py PingThread.py sendevent.py StatusMonitor.py udp.py I put them in a temp folder and it seems to have solved the problem.
