So, did anyone ever figure this out? We're having similar issues: more or less every 5 minutes we get a 'device down' event , followed by a 'device up' the minute after. So most of the time the device is actually seen as 'up'
When pinging manually over a longer timespan (with ping from iputils) - 1 ping per second - this works fine. All pings return within 4 ms.
