Greetings... Just checking, since you got a permissions error... Is the script you wrote set to root:root executable? It is the zenoss userid that is trying to run the script via the Events Manager.
If all else fails, try a "su - zenoss" to log in as Zenoss with the path and environment settings of that zenoss userid, and you can test your script again.
