The VM will get you up and running pretty easily.

First, expand the VM hard drive to ~ 20 Gig (vmware-vdiskmanager -x ##Gb
"nameofvmvmdkfile.vmdk) Then boot for the first time using Gparted or
something to expand the / partition.

....This should give you enough space to play around with and get some packages
if you need them.

Then install the zenpack conary-distro group, then the zenpacks you want (From
web U/I use MOZILLA)...Then turn of system check / update in the rPAth
appliance web u/i. (vmwareIP:8004)

Or if getting a conary package (Say m4, make, gcc, and a couple others then you
can compile fping for it....If you need fping executable for VMappliance let me
know) make sure after you install you 'conary pin <pkgname>' Or else when
rpath appliance tries to update trove's it will uninstall all the packages. (I
updated kernel manually did not pin new kernel, magically it was unupdated by
rpath)

Cheers
