Ok after 2 days of googleing I am stumped. I have 2 questions to pose to the group regarding WMI. Question 1. Why would the wmi user be attempting to gain access to the PlugPlayManager and the PlugPlaySecurityObject.
I can not find any reference to why the WMIuser would try to access this. Question 2 Why would the wmiuser that can get everything else fail to access this object? My WMI user is not a member of the admin group and I get everything else except this one thing. The error appears on Domain Controllers and member servers alike. I wanted a limited privileged user for security reason. In testing if I add the user to admin group the error disappears. Regarding Q1 could the WMIuser be polling PlugPlayManager to find USB harddrives to get perf data on??? I have not been able to find anywhere to configure any type of security for the PlugPlayManager.
