Thanks to MRay's help I seem to have resolved my issue. Based on the suggestion that the LinuxMonitorAddOn Zenpack seemed to somehow no longer be installed I redownloaded it via:
http://www.zenoss.com/community/projects/zenpacks/linuxmonitoraddon installed and restarted Zenoss and the errors were gone. My thanks to MRay for his help in the matter.
