Maybe - it won't get rid of existing graphs. What I'm most interested in is if thresholds are part of the Graph Definitions as they seem to be, or if they can operate independently as you want them to.
I'd create a local copy of the existing template on a test server, delete your graph definitions, and generate one of the threshold event conditions (fill up the disk, or max out the CPU).
