setup: zenoss stack installer 64 bit on centos 5.3

i had been running 2.3 for many months without trouble. i upgraded to
2.4.3 and started seeing gaps in some of my graphs. after poking around i
determined that it was only on graphs using 32 bit snmp counters and with
high throughput so the counters wrapped frequently. i could see that as
throughput decreased, the gaps were farther apart.

then i upgraded to 2.4.5 and the graphs were good again. so i figured it
was fixed. but i just restarted zenoss today and now the gaps are back.
so obviously it isn't fixed. i guess i could add some more 64bit
templates to fix the graphs that are having issues, but it seems that
something needs to be addressed in zenoss.

from what i can see, zenoss is getting the correct path, libraries are
being loaded from the zenoss tree, process ownership is all fine, etc.

if i dump the rrd files, i see NaN values where the gaps are. there are
messages in the zenperf log indicating that values are being truncated to
32 bits, but those have been going on even when the graphs look ok, so it
doesn't seem like that is the underlying issue.

any clues of where to look for more clues?
