I have been researching using 0MQ with the PUB/SUB topology but could only do so with publisher side filtering. There are discussions about integrating this into the framework
and discussions about building this functionality with the current topologies of 0MQ 2.0.7. Below is a list of the topics I have found discussing this issue.
