Hearing Zed Shaw saying something like "I don't know how to use it. > I've never used a pair socket myself," makes me hope that that's the case. Well, as far as I can tell there are proper use cases for PAIR, especially over inproc. I've documented these and explained them in detail in the Guide. However like much of this discussion, the gap between the theory and the practice is huge. You may imagine people "want to use" 0MQ in various ways but that's back to front. People (for the most part afaict) simply want to solve clear and present problems, and have to then try to make the 0MQ lego bricks fit that somehow. You should never, as a technical developer, argue that your users' use cases do not matter. What you can argue is that they're misusing the tool, but then you have to offer a better answer than "your problem is wrong". -Pieter _______________________________________________ zeromq-dev mailing list [email protected] http://lists.zeromq.org/mailman/listinfo/zeromq-dev
