There is a PUB-side filtering project in progress, but hasn't moved much in the last six months or so. One option would be to invest time in that branch. Another option would be to implement topic exchange logic in your application (it's not really complex) and use ROUTER (XREP) sockets to address DEALER (XREQ) subscribers. That is what I'd do today, if I was unable to make the PUB-side filtering with in the libzmq core. If you need help on high-speed topic routing, let me know.
