There are going to be cases where the business semantics are stable and then it makes sense to expose them directly. I'm not advocating a RESTful approach for everything. It is one way of reducing the cost of rapid change in protocols. I think it is also artificially complex if you are using ZeroMQ for everything. However being semantically compatible with HTTP is useful in some cases. There are a lot of cases where this resource based request-reply can't work.
