Sorry if they have caused you some confusion. I always assumed that at some point zproject generation would replace them as hand maintaining the bindings is a pain as evidenced by the fact that I haven't done it :) So, although I think it's more work, generating the bindings automatically, as you sugguest here, I do think is the right approach.
