It sad to hear you are leaving us. Regarding Windows, I'm actually a Windows user, and contributed Windows stuff to the project. When Pieter asked me to be the BDFL he knew I didn't have Linux experience. So I think Windows users are welcome.
Also, one of the last thing Pieter did before dying was making sure all ZeroMQ projects compile on Windows. NetMQ, which is a port of zeromq to C# first worked only on Windows and also using IO completion ports. It is now running on Linux as well. I think Windows users are welcome and I'm actually the proof for that. Im actually really interested in AF sockets on Windows, which I think will resolve real security issue with using TCP on same machine, both for zeromq and NetMQ. If you I can help with this. I hope you will reconsider.
